Jessup

I wasn't really wanting another dog. We already had 2 dogs and three cats and I consider that a full house.

But then I saw Jessup, an 8 year old coon hound who was hit by a car in November, saved by animal services, but who still had not found a home. They were desperate to get him placed in a home and I got the feeling his time was running out, if you know what I mean. Since we have the room and experience with special cases, we went to meet him and, naturally brought him home with us.
His back leg is damaged, so he walks with a limp and is, for some reason afraid to go in the kitchen, perhaps because he thinks the floor is slick. He just doesn't trust the strength of his back legs yet and I am sure that will change over time.
Something we were a bit surprised to find out is how much he likes to sing. He can be sitting on the couch one moment and howling the next. We are working to divert this behavior outside only. Oh the joys of a new pet!
