| This bed is prepped for spring planting |
With the arrival of March comes the true beginning of gardening season. Things aren't in full swing yet, but it's definitely picking up. I'm certainly antsy to get outside and soak up some Vitamin D.
So what needs to be planted this month? Quite a lot, actually. It's time for all our cool weather crops to go in the ground, and this is the last chance start summer crops from seed indoors. To speed up germination rates, go ahead and rake away or work all of last year's mulch into the soil. Let the sun's solar energy warm up that soil, it's ready to sunbathe, too! Keep in mind that there is still a chance for snow this month, so don't get too eager to put out summer crops, even on the warmest days.
